Apparently size really does matter. But it’s not the size you’d think.
A recent study showed that women want different things from their one-night standsthan they do from long-term partners. Namely, more girth!
The research, which has yet to be published in a peer reviewed journal, was conducted at UCLA’s Sexual Psychophysiology and Affective Neuroscience (SPAN) Laboratory. In the study, 41 women were shown 3-D printed models of different sized penises (hurray science!). The 33 models ranged in size from 4 inches long and 2.5 inches in circumference to 8.5 inches long and 7 inches (!?!?) in circumference. The ladies were asked to choose which they would prefer for a one-night stand, and which they’d prefer for a long-term boyfriend. Most women chose penises with a slightly larger girth for their hook ups. However, they preferred a length of about 6.5 inches for both types of sexual partners. Interesting!
In the second part of the study, women were asked to examine a single penis model for 30 seconds. That model was then placed in a bin with the 32 others. After 10 minutes, the women were each asked to find their model in the bin. Results from this part of the experiment showed that women tended to overestimate the size of the penis they had examined earlier. Good news for men!
“For men who are considering surgery to increase their phallus sizes, maybe they do not have to after all, if women tend to overestimate,” undergraduate researcher Shannon Leung said.
If we’re that bad at figuring out what our guys are working with on sight, maybe the motion of the ocean really is most important. Your college boyfriend was right.
